We caught a short article by Megan Baldino of WSBT in Indiana dated earlier this month. It's about an annual oriental rug event held by Ten Thousand Villages, and this is the 16th to date.
Each year, about 300 rugs are sent out to the Ten Thousand Villages Goshen store.
Although the event is over is over in Indiana, we found an awesome rug just like the one photographed on ebay. They're called Pakistan Caucasian Kazak Design Peshawar rugs. A lot of dealers simply call them "pak-Caucasians."
The general concept behind Ten Thousand Villages is to empower the
people through fair trade. Quality products for equitable exchange,
while encouraging and placing emphasis on education in pakistan and
empowering women. Be sure to check them out!
And take a look at their calendar of rug events for future reference!
