Sotheby's to Feature Carpets from the Barbara Zidell Sedlin Family Collection this March '09

New York, NY:  Set for the auction block, Sotheby's has lined up the family collection/inventory of Ms. Barbara Zidell Sedlin.  The rugs are reported by ArtDaily to have an auction estimate of some $2 million to $3 million.  These carpets were previously part of the Ghiordian Knot inventory, the Sedlin oriental rug Business.  The collection will be on display at New York Sotheby's starting February 25, 2009 going to the block on March 3rd '09.


Top Three Highlights:

an early 17th century Northwest Persian Garden Carpet Fragment est. $70/100,000 (seen below)

a Karachopt Kazak Rug with spacious design and brilliant coloring est. $50/70,000

a large ivory Ziegler Mahal Carpet in near original condition, estimated to sell for $80/120,000.
