Signatures

We are currently accumulating images of rugs and details of signatures.  This section is a post in progress, we are doing the same for dated rugs as well.  The order in which these rugs are presented is loosely based on how they appeared in online catalogues. At some point they will be organized by region, then workshop.

Images may take quite some time to load.  Many of the signatures are very small, and in some cases nearly illegible.  Signatures are mixed - some from well known workshops, others short inscriptions from unknown weavers.  At a point better signatures come along from that workshop or weaver, the current will remain.  We did our best to put the signatures in proper orientation.

If you have arrived at this page with unfamiliarity of signed rugs, please read this post on Signatures.  Please also read our post about identifying rewoven signatures.
