Lynne Jones is in some hot water for spending taxpayers money on furnishing her second home. The Socialist Campaign Group leading member spent £22,000 ($35,101 USD) of taxpayers money on a new bathroom, wallpaper, rugs and a tv. According to the Telegraph Online, Miss Jones spent £1,300 ($2,074 USD) on Persian rugs and tried to claim £600 of it as necessary spending. The fines could have been higher, but the Parliamentary fees office caught the spending and refused to pay for more extravagant items. Even after Ms. Jones stated that she was not going to run again she still continued to charge furnishings to the taxpayers. We obviously love rugs here at Rug Rag, but when the taxpayers are the ones shelling out the money, that's where we draw the line.
