The New York Historical Society will be hosting an Exhibit this April featuring
"Woven Splendor From Timbuktu to Tibet: Exotic Rugs and Textiles From New York Collectors".
In celebration of the 75th anniversary of one of the World's oldest and most renown oriental rug Collecting Clubs, the Hajji Baba Club based in New York City. The exhibit will be hosted by The New York Historical Society, and feature some 75+ items ranging from Oriental rugs to textiles and even costumes. Other than celebrating three quarters of a century in existence, the theme of the exhibit is to show the place of Oriental Rug's in New York City, as well as within the collections of both current and founding members of the Hajji Baba Club. This exhibit is monumental as some items may also be brought in from both the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Textile Museum of Washington D.C.
Perhaps most notable for the exhibit, Rug Scholar Dr. Jon Thompson will be presenting on rugs from the collections of members.
