In the very interesting Rug Estimator tool, why is there no Turkey listed as a country of origin?
Hello, Great question
There were several reasons we left Turkey out:
rug estimator pro was programmed with many thousands of unique genre
rugs from importers, auction houses, and inventories across the US.
From the rugs used, the Turkish Rug population was found to be an an
unreliable and inconclusive sample. Therefore, in an effort to
maintain the integrity of the algorithm, we had to exclude it as an
origin category for the time being.
With the above being said, we are still confident that estimating a
Turkish rug would not be a problem. While we hope to include Turkey in
the future, as of right now there are so many variables when it comes
to Turkish Rugs, we cannot foresee this being something we will do in
the near future.
In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding your rug, or wish for feedback, please bring your carpet/rug to our Oriental Rug Forum! It's free to register and use.
Thank you for writing in & all the best,
