August 5th, 2008: According to an article seen on seacoastonline.com, Mir's oriental rugs store located at 44 Lafayette Road, North Hampton recently had two rugs stolen on August 5th.
One of the rugs has been described as having both wool and silk fibers, brown and beige in color. The other rug has been noted as a "Turkoman bokhara," (see example here) measuring 3'9"x5'9" with red, ivory and blue. While not specifically stated in the article, both rugs are believed to be hand knotted Oriental Rugs individually valued at $2,500 a piece.
Be sure to keep a thoughtful eye out on Craigslist, ebay, and other online venues.
