New Application for Old Rugs: A Curtain!

This Sotheby's preview this March for the Sedlin Family Collection Sale we walked the gallery with a very kind couple.  Standing with them in front of a old polychrome silk warp Senna (see Lot 42), one comment that stood out was how the rug draped like a fine fabric.

Browsing online rugs, we came across this photograph below.  An interesting decoratating option for a piled rug:  Use it as a curtain!

Hi Bukhara-Carpets!

It's a very interesting concept. A great way to preserve the investment potential in higher grade rugs and collectible antiques provided they're protected from too much direct sunlight.

All the best,

David
