Sotheby's October 30, 1982. New York, Lot 168:

"silk HERIZ CARPET, Persia 

Early 19th century.  Approximately 10 feet 1 inches (3.08 m.) x 7 feet 8 inches (2.34 m.)

Note: This carpet was acquired by its present owner at Sotheby's, New York on April 26, 1974, sale #3628, lot #109.  At that time, it had been in the collection of its owner since 1921.  It had been procured through Reinhardt Von Oettingen, Berlin and is believed to have been a gift from the Shah of Persia to Alexander I of Russia at his coronation (1801)."

Estimate: $100,000 / 130,000 

SOLD: $93,500 including buyer's premium
