LOT 11271 Isphahan Carpet

LOT 11271 Isphahan Carpet.

CENTRAL PERSIA, MID 20TH CENTURY.  12 ft. 6 in. x 8 ft. 9 in.

Estimate: $7,000-10,000

SOLD: $7,500 + 25% Buyers Premium.  8 bids

Freeman's Comments:  signed and inscribed 'isfahan MAMOURY', silk warps.  Very good overall condition with woven signed cartouche at one end and original khilim end finishes intact. Generally full pile throughout with no worn areas visible. There is evidence of very minor localized moth damage and slight localized surface discoloration. Sides are intact. Carpet is pliable, not dry or brittle.

Rug Rag Comments:  Very high kpsi, overall in great condition.  We caught a photograph of the signature, however it unfortunately did not come out so well.
