Iranian Brings Rug to the North Pole

Tehran, Iran.  July 6, 2008.  Accodring to MEHR News, Mr. Hamid Jodeiri Khodashenas plans to hoist Iran's tri colored green white and red flag at the North Pole for the first time ever for Iran.  As Jodeiri was quoted, he plans to bring with him "... a fistful of Iran's soil, water of Mount Damavand, and a Persian Carpet... and will be performing several traditional Iranian ceremonies."  Apparently Jodeiri plans to leave for the North Pole from Finland on July 19th, land in a Russian Port on the 20th, and take 6 days to reach the top of the World, the North Pole, on the 26th of July.  Jodeiri anticipates his actual stay at the North Pole will be a 10 hour duration, at which point in time he will continue with his journey back to Iran.

Jodeiri is a self sustaining scientist.  He has established a research center which researches total solar eclipses and the affects of such on plants and animals on earth - all with his own money.  Apparently the Government does not allot money for this type of research, so many of Jodeiris projects have been funded by himself.
