Probably the best condition manchester kashan in the United States
Size: 13' x 20'
Age: ~85 year old semi antique. Est. 1915-1925
Condition: This carpet is in excellent condition. Owner states carpet has been in storage unused for at least 65 years. Pile is full and no different than original height. Some areas show [temporary] compression from having been rolled in a private collection. This rug has no repairs, however the fringe originally appears to have been woven into a kilim, and at some point released. There is no moth damage, no end loss, no matting, no stains, no knot heads, no low areas, no dry area, no splits or other. As close to "Mint Condition" as they come. This is an outstandingly well-taken-care-of carpet very unusual in condition, size and genre. Well suited for any museum or private collection.
Special Attributes: Ultra-high quality Manchester (spun the United Kingdom) wool pile. Carpet is also signed "Order by Ady Magian." Overall spectacular condition.
Technical: 2 ply Manchester wool pile on cotton foundation. Knots per square inch are a consistent 18x20 count (averaging 360 kpsi using a quarter as seen at the bottom of the page.) This large carpet was made in one piece on a single, massive loom.
