Designed by Laura Bush, the George Bush oval office carpet has caught some heavy attention (seen right image from dailylife.com). Of Course Mr. Bush loves talking about it: "If
you walk in that Oval Office, I think you're going to say... 'This guy's optimistic.' " he stated in a recent Oval Office tour.
In a traditional lineup of Former US Presidents and Barack Obama (a "meet the Presidents" event) on January 8, 2009, Bill Clinton was quoted as saying "I just love that rug."
While the rug certainly has it's appeal, it won't be in the Oval Office for much longer. Word has it, the carpet will be shipped out to the Bush Family home in Dallas Texas. The carpet didn't come with a weak price tag. Of the $100,000 allotted for Presidents in "renovations," some $62,000 was spent on the carpet alone! We would Plug it into the Rug Rag Oriental Rug Estimator Pro, but it's a Tufted Carpet.
Custom design carpets do come at a high premium, especially given the square footage of this piece: we estimate it to be somewhere in the vicinity of 21'x28' or approximately 588 square feet (round and oval carpets are measured with same dimensions to rectangle and squares)
What will Barack Obama Choose for his Oval Office Carpet?
