Step 1: Submit your Rug to Rug Rag!

To be sure your rug will be a good candidate for Rug Rag's Oriental Rug Verification, please send 2 images in at least 600x450 pixel resolution to info@rugrag.com with the subject "Verification Candidate?" Please include any information, knowledge, history you may have about the rug, as well as size (excluding fringe), anticipated venue (e.g. eBay, Craigslist) when you will list, and asking price. If the rug has ANY staining, damage, or other, please advise in this first contact e-mail as well.

Images necessary for step 1: One full shot of the entire front of the rug or carpet in normal, indoor lighting. One corner shot photograph of the back of the rug.

Step 2: Receive Confirmation

Once we have reviewed your Oriental Rug, we will then get back to you with confirmation as to whether or not your rug(s) will be suitable for the Verification process.

Step 3: Images of your Oriental Rug

For best results on Oriental Rug Verifications, we require images be at least 600x450 pixels resolution of the following areas of your rug (underlined points are necessary, the more photographs, the more elements we can verify):

a: Closeup of your rugs fringe including some pile in the photograph (use "flower" button):

b: Closeup of any worn areas, or general pile height:

c: Closeup of quarter place on the reverse side of your rug on top of the knots.

d: Photograph any low areas, stains, moth damage, dry rot or other condition issues.

e: Photograph any inscriptions, signature cartouches, or tags which may be on the rug.

f: Re-Send photographs necessary for Step "a" as seen above.

Remember, it is in your best interest to supply as many (no more than 10) images of your rug. The better the quality of your photographs, the more characteristics we will be able to verify. This in turn will make your Rug Rag Verification Certificate stronger, for greater potential in high resale value! You want to get top dollar for your Oriental Rug, so please be sure to take good quality, high resolution photographs. Images should be properly cropped, with no additional Photoshop or other program augmentation unless the goal is to accurately adjust color balance. Photographs of which our professionals deem to have been too stylized will be rejected immediately. Intentionally deceptive processing will result in account suspension.
