Home Depot Rugs

Chances are the last time you were at Home Depot you saw similar looking rugs to the ones listed at the bottom of this page.

According to ajc.com one of the rug buyers for Home Depot, Ronald K. Johnston was ordered to pay some $1.8 million of $2.9 million in restitution for a vendor kickback ring.  Johnstan was not the only one involved, apparently he was enlisted by an Anthony Tesvich, a tile buyer, who created the elaborate scheme of receiving bribes to shelve certain vendor products.  It is unclear if rugs were involved with the fraud, however, Johnston was a "rug product merchant" for Home Depot.

Last Thursday Mr. Johnston was sentanced to just under 4 years in prision.  It is said that Johnston did pay tax on the $1.4 million he is charged of accepting as bribes.  Unfortunately much of this money went to an expensive habit of horse racing.
