The Fredericksburg Area Museum is displaying 28 of Virginia's finest Persian Rugs in the Mansard Gallery starting tomorrow, Saturday September 19th. One of the main purposes of the exhibit is to help build tie together Americans and the Central Asian cultures. This is quite important as there are close to 200,000 U.S. troops currently stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Christa Stabler, the museums President and CEO said, "There is typically a great deal of misunderstanding surrounding this
region, but through this exhibit, we believe the visitor will gain an
appreciation of cultures so critical to international relations today." The exhibit will be on display until December 31.
