Pictured herewith is one of two "Twin Saber Mashad" oriental rugs as presented by SOBCO International, a Los Angeles based Award winning Area Rug Import Company owned and operated by Dr. Khosrow Sobhe.
Each rug has been completely hand knotted fringe to fringe, and virtually identical in every aspect. Sizes of each measure 8'2" x 11'9" excluding fringe. Knot count has been determined at approximately 650 kpsi, which translates to roughly 70 raj. Both rugs have an inscription by master weaver "Saber," who migrated in the early 1900's from the city of tabriz, to Mashad, Iran. Saber is well known for his spectacular quality Persian Rugs which were often produced with the intention of use or display in courts, museums, and well to do families. Saber passed in the year 1975, however tradition has been carried on with permission granted to his workshop manager in a continuing effort to produce only the finest quality rugs with highest of standards.
Each Saber Mashad rug is produced with only the best grade of materials, starting with wool clipped from baby lambs taken from underarms, belly and chest. The twin Saber mashad rugs as seen below are made on 100% natural silk foundation, which also translate to the pile of the rug in flower arrangements. Surrounding each woven artifact is a 1" skirt intricately woven to protect edges from premature wear. Rare in quality, genre, attribution and element of "twin" production, these carpets are being offered exclusively through SOBCO International at an individual investment of $29,500. A must for the the most discriminating enthusiast or connoisseur: a rare opportunity to own highly distinguished carpets suitable for the most exclusive private collections.
