Many car experts would agree the Miura is within the top dozen Super Cars ever: The very exotic needed to launch Lamborghini beyond Ferrari. These V12 supercars were beautiful and dangerous, sexy and classy. Perhaps most impressive about the Miura is not only the timeless design, but also the fact that all major designers were under the age of 25!
Frank Sinatra was the owner of a 1970 P400S Miura as seen below. This special vehicle featured an orange exterior with "wild Boar Skin" leather interior. To top it off Vintage style, Custom Orange Shag carpeting! The car has transferred through several owners until 2003. At this time, the car went to auction at Christies NY: said to still have the original custom shag some 33 years later. We actually saw the car listed on ebay in 2002 prior to being offered by Christies in '03. The vehicle was said to be offered by a "Friend of the Owner" in Nyack, NY, a small town on the West side of the Hudson River near the Tappan Zee Bridge.
The Lamborghini Miura has caught the attention of many celebrities over the years including Rod Stewart and Jay Kay from the popular group Jamaraquoi. According to Lamborghini Registry, the most prominent order of a Miura was made to the order of Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi of Iran (Vehicle currently in the Nicholas Cage Car Collection) seen to the right: a 1971 Miura SV, Chassis #4870. Rumor has it the Shah was known to have parked several vehicles from his vast collection on true Persian Carpets.
