Preparation for the Grand Opening of their location at 1317 West Poinsett St. is nothing short of a fantastic feat.  According to Richard Amatulli, founder of Amatulli & Sons, “We’ve been planning the move since we first bought property in Landrum in 1998.”  The moving commenced in July 2007 from their previous showroom which was located in New Canaan, Connecticut.

“It was quite an endeavor to pack, ship and resettle a business that has been up and running for over 40 years” reports Amatulli.  Some eleven months later, and twelve truck loads of inventory, the new store in Greer is now fully stocked and ready for celebration.

Amatulli & Sons is a family owned business including husband wife team Richard and Mary Amatulli, and the couple's middle son, John.  Richard Amatulli’s history of importing Oriental Rugs goes back to 1968 when he was with NATO in Turkey.  A partnership was formed to revitalize Turkey’s Oriental Rug industry, which was then followed with 30 years of manufacturing, importing, wholesale and retail.  Over the course of the past 8 years, Richard and Mary’s middle son John has dedicated his working knowledge and education in design and engineering in addition to his near decade of post-college experience.

Amatulli & Sons is recognized as one of the premier destinations for acquisition of fine Turkish and Oriental Rugs.  In 1985, the company added to their repertoire a furniture division, of which merchandise is imported directly from England, France, Asia and domestic producers as well.  Open to the public and the trade Tuesday thru Saturday from 11am to 5pm or by special appointment.  For more information visit their website at www.RugAuthority.com or call 864-879-1122.
