Preparation for the Grand Opening of their location at 1317 West Poinsett St. is nothing short
of a fantastic feat. According to
Richard Amatulli, founder of Amatulli & Sons, “We’ve been planning the move
since we first bought property in Landrum in 1998.” The moving commenced in July 2007 from their previous
showroom which was located in New Canaan, Connecticut.
“It was quite an endeavor to pack, ship and resettle a business that has
been up and running for over 40 years” reports Amatulli. Some eleven months later, and twelve truck
loads of inventory, the new store in Greer is now fully stocked and ready for

Richard and Mary Amatulli, and the couple's middle son, John. Richard Amatulli’s history of importing
Oriental Rugs goes back to 1968 when he was with NATO in Turkey. A partnership was formed to revitalize Turkey’s
Oriental Rug industry, which was then followed with 30 years of manufacturing,
importing, wholesale and retail. Over
the course of the past 8 years, Richard and Mary’s middle son John has dedicated
his working knowledge and education in design and engineering in addition to his near decade of post-college
