jaipur, India. The Albert Hall Museum currently has one of India's finest art treasures on display. Kept locked away for several years, a Persian garden carpet from approximately 1632 A.D. is now covered with a polycarbonate compact sheet to retain the rug's sheen, and slow deterioration.
The carpet is said to have been acquired in between the years 1647 and 1650 A.D. by Mirza raja Jai Singh-I, who had apparently purchased the rug from the Shah Abbas of Persia.
