$250,000 Worth of Carpets Stolen

Turns out Highland Park, Illinois is a Rug Rag favorite today. First we have the Ferris Bueller house up for sale, and now we have 4 thieves who have been arrested for stealing $250,000 worth of rugs! The four men were caught by an undercover police officer when he spotted a red van and a black Mercedes in a local parking lot at around 10 p.m. The crooks broke into the store and loaded 7 rugs into their van with a total value of $250,000. Lately it seems oriental rugs are the number one choice of thieves, as CU Boulder is dealing with a similar situation.

The head of Highland Park police stated that the rugs were handmade Persians with some of them being made of silk. It is believed that the men came into the store at an earlier time and took note of the more expensive rugs. The four men are being held on $500,000 bond each, and are being forced to hand over their passports.
