10 Million Dollar Ferrari Replaced by Rugs

Cameron's house from the cult 80's movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" is up for sale in the Highland Park neighborhood in Illinois. The famous house is going for $2,300,000, which gets you 5,300 square feet, 4 bedrooms and 4 baths on 3/4 of an acre of land. The house is very unique and features a glass pavilion that hangs over a ravine. The real estate agent describes the house as "...a unique and stunning home. It's spectacular inside. It's like living in a tree house."

We took notice of the photos provided by the agent which show the house furnished with a few oriental rugs. The white rug in the photo pictured below is a Moroccan Shag and appears to be 9'x12'. Moroccan Shag rugs are coarser in knot count but they feature a dense and very plush pile. While thicker shag rugs reached popularity in the third quarter 20th century, many Indian interpretations were made in the mid 1970's and continue to grow in popularity throughout today.

The second rug seen as a smaller area rug appears to have a traditional tribal pattern. This can be found in some jaldar (double knotted) rugs, while some inspiration from older serab pieces.
